I recently wrote a guest blog post on the topic of gender specific toys and the impact they may (or may not) have on the future careers of our children.

It seems quite normal to me that I should want to share my skills with my daughter. I hadn’t really considered that the toys she plays with, activities I do with her and books she reads could be greatly influencing her future choice of career. But according to Education Minister Elizabeth Truss, gender specific toys may be turning girls off careers in maths and science.
