I have never made a tea loaf before but now I’m a total convert – Bara Brith is amazing! The recipe is so simple as well, you just need to be organised enough to soak your fruit and sugar in hot tea the night before you’re going to make it.
This recipe, found on p302 of Mary Berry’s Baking Bible, is bake number 12 of my Baking Bible Challenge.
I actually made this ahead of time, for next week when my parents are visiting, so it has gone in the freezer, but not before I cut a sample slice! It’s best served smothered in butter, yum!
I’m not sure if you’d class it as cake or bread, so I’ve tagged it as both!
