Peter Rabbit: I Love You {What We’re Reading}

When Rosalie initially started taking an interest in books and we took our first few trips to the library I was careful to choose only books that I really liked. But now we are going on a regular basis, and our local library is fairly small, I am less careful. We’re probably going to get through most, if not all, of the children’s books eventually! So I just let Rosalie rummage around in the big tubs of board books and see what takes her fancy.
She was captivated by this weeks’ book because it has a surprising ending…
Peter Rabbit: I Love You features the classic Beatrix Potter characters that we all love, and the illustrations are beautiful. The book follows Peter Rabbit as he does many of the things little babies do throughout their days.
First he does some smiling and giggling, then some wriggling and jiggling, followed by singing and clapping, and then, exhausted from all that, he takes a nap.
The final page of the book has a peek-a-boo mirror! Surprise!
Rosalie was completely fascinated with the baby in the book, she spent several minutes peering into the mirror, holding her face really close.
Although the story is short there are lots of colours and details on each page that you can talk about, and you can join in by making your baby giggle and wriggle and clap.

What are you reading this week?

    Great minds think alike as our book this week was very nearly going to be The Tale of Peter Rabbit! I love that this one has the peek-a-boo mirror. Rosalie looks very taken with her reflection. πŸ™‚
