This morning seemed as good a day as any to make Bakewell Slices, so that’s what I did. Although once sliced up and arranged on my cake stand, I did feel slightly sad that no one was coming round for tea!
This is definitely one of those recipes I would have previously skipped over – pastry and cake, way too much effort! But in fact, when using my trusty Kenwood Chef, making the pastry was a doddle, and the cake used the all-in-one method, so including the 25 minutes of cooking I had it out of the oven and cooling within an hour.
