I take so many photographs of Rosalie, but hardly any with me and/or Jim in them. As my blog is meant to be all about capturing memories to share with our baby girl when she is bigger, I thought I would join in this year with Me & Mine, which is a family portrait project.
I love Rosalie’s toothy grin in this one; the fact that she has chocolate icing on her tights, and that I am not paying attention to the camera despite being the one holding the shutter release! But this sums us up really.
January hasn’t been a month of great adventures, it has been more about getting back into routines after the excitement and decadence of Christmas. But towards the end of January we always have Daddy’s birthday to look forward to.
We had a lovely afternoon drinking tea, eating chocolate cake and opening presents, and I made a special point of setting the tripod up with my remote shutter release, so that I could photograph us all together. These photos sum up the highlight of our month as a family.
We might not be looking too spectacular as we all have colds, but this is a moment frozen in time, how we really were on Daddy’s 33rd birthday.
Rosalie was so interested in how mummy was making the camera flash when she was sat on the sofa and the camera was on three legs on the other side of the room. So we showed her the remote shutter release (a homemade electronics project from many moons ago) and she had fun pressing the buttons.
I’m really looking forward to joining in with Me & Mine each month, and sharing more family portraits, hopefully away from the sofa!
