We’ve had lots of fun this week, mostly out and about – for half of the week my parents have been visiting and Rosalie has thoroughly enjoyed all the extra attention from Granny & Grandad!
Out and about
Last weekend, seeing the weather was good when we woke up, we took the bull by the horns and went out for a walk. It was chilly but bright and Rosalie enjoyed the view from high up in the backpack. It was a lovely morning spent with my two favourite people.
On Monday we had lots of little errands to run and Rosalie charmed the lady in the card shop, and the checkout man in Waitrose. We then headed to the library to get some new books. We had to return Elmer but we got a replacement!
Granny and Grandad arrived on Wednesday morning and they took Rosalie out to the park and for a walk to see the ducks. On Thursday, a rather wet day, we did the Newbury Town Trail, had a relaxing lunch in John Lewis and did a spot of toy shopping!
On Friday we had a wonderful day at Beale Park, a local wildlife park. We literally spent all day there, and it was definitely worth the ticket price. Rosalie thoroughly enjoyed the Little Tikes indoor play area and the train ride. Her favourite animals were the goats because they were so friendly and came really close to the fence; she’s now learnt to say ‘goat’ and ‘maaa’! We will definitely be going back again as it was a really great full day out, and they even have a paddling pool open in the summer.
Fun at home
We haven’t really spent a lot of time at home this week, but we did have fun trying out the new Gorillapod…
Time for me
I have been very fortunate this week with Granny and Grandad here, in that they took Rosalie out on Wednesday which enabled me to have some uninterrupted time to work. I guess this isn’t really ‘me time’ but it was nice to focus solely on work for an hour or two, without having to worry about Rosalie. I wrote a post earlier this week about how I feel at the moment with regards to being a work at home mum; it was cathartic writing it at least.
My happiest moment
It’s so hard to choose again! It was lovely seeing Rosalie’s energy and enthusiasm in the Little Tikes play area – crawling in and out, around and under the play equipment, trying to climb the steps and whooshing down the slides. But it was also so cute watching her face light up as the goats came closer to the fence and to hear her talking to them in bleating language – I love her so much!
