#38 Banana Loaf {Baking Bible Challenge}

Earlier this week Rosalie and I got our bake on, using up a couple of bananas that were way past their best, to make Mary Berry’s Banana Loaf.

Rosalie has ‘helped’ me with my baking in the past – I mean, she’s held a spoon in a halfhearted attempt to stir the Christmas Cake mix – but she wasn’t really old enough to understand. But this time I put on her apron and got her up on a chair so she was right in the middle of the action. She loved the scales, seeing the numbers change and trying to spoon flour was a most serious task.

The cake came out of its tin really well, and smelled amazing. For now it has gone into the freezer, so I will have to update you when we eat it as to whether is passes the taste test!

    Awww Rosalie looks adorable in her apron. πŸ™‚ Great idea to freeze the cake though, I never remember to do that. I'm interested to know if freezing changes the texture of it at all.

    Round here bananas never stick around long enough to make banana bread since a certain someone learned how to peel them herself.

    Thanks Vickie! I've freezed a few cakes in my time, and my mum regularly does, and they always taste exactly the same (provided you don't leave them in the freezer too long, as with anything I suppose). I don't imagine bananas will last as long round here once Rosalie learns that skill!!
