I love autumn; I love the way the air smells, I love scuffing my boots through autumn leaves, I love wrapping up warm and wearing wellies, and I especially love that it’s acceptable to drink hot chocolate again!
We’ve already been out collecting fallen leaves and even made some cute hedgehogs with them (go us!). As Rosalie was soaking the sugar paper with glue and sticking leaf on top of leaf, it got me thinking about our Autumn Bucket List. And this is what I came up with:
-
Visit a pumpkin patch
-
Do leaf rubbings
-
Go on a scavenger hunt
-
Bake pumpkin…anything!
-
Play in the leaves
-
Make leaf art
-
Watch the fireworks
-
Go on a Halloween trail
Although we usually make pumpkin pie and carve a pumpkin for Halloween, I have never been to a big pumpkin patch, so I’m quite excited to go this year and I think Rosalie will have a lot of fun too!
When I received the latest edition of the National Trust magazine and accompanying newspaper specific to our region, I spent a happy hour deciding which properties we would visit on which weekends to make the most of all the special events they have going on this autumn and winter. I am really looking forward to taking Rosalie on a Halloween Trail this year.
Have a great autumn!
