Toddler Curiosity and Embracing Simple Things
One of the best things about having a toddler is the way they make you slow down, stop even, and take notice of so many tiny things that you would otherwise overlook, walk past, or maybe sometimes consider an inconvenience. Rosalie is so curious, noticing everything, collecting, touching, smelling. Aren’t toddlers great for helping us enjoy the simple things?
Me & Mine – July 2016 – Our family is growing!
I was so thrilled to be able to announce through our July Me & Mine family portraits that our family would be growing in 2017!
9 ways to get your two year old involved in the kitchen
I wrote this post, sharing nine ways you can get your two year old involved in the kitchen, because Rosalie and I have such a blast when cooking and baking together, and we do it a lot, so I thought it would be useful to share some ways your toddler can help out and get involved!
Me & Mine – November 2016
We had so much fun taking these family portraits, and I was really pleased with the results, making my Me & Mine for November one of my favourite posts and selection of photographs of 2016.
Winter Sensory Tray
I enjoyed putting together this winter sensory tray for Rosalie, and she has had so much fun out of it throughout the whole month. It’s amazing how something so simple can provide unlimited play opportunities.
Twelve Days of Christmas at Mottisfont
The Twelve Days of Christmas Trail at Mottisfont was a fantastic family day out, I had to share it because we had such a wonderful time, and I think the staff and volunteers at Mottisfont do such a great job with their trails and family friendly activities.
An important post for us
Losing something I never really had
2016 didn’t start off well for us as I suffered an early miscarriage in February. This post is very important to me, and us as a family, as talking candidly about pregnancy loss is something we found lacking. I wanted to share my experience and offer my support to others going through similar, since having an early miscarriage can be very lonely and difficult as you may find yourself treated as if you never really had anything to lose, when you feel entirely the opposite. Gone, but not forgotten, I still wonder what our lost little one might have become.
I was incredibly lucky to fall pregnant again quickly, and so it is with grateful hearts that we say farewell to 2016, excited to welcome our new arrival in January.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
2017 is going to be a good year – our family is growing and I have so many plans for playful learning with Rosalie, as well as for my blog!
Thank you all for reading my little corner of the internet in 2016. I hope you and your families have a wonderful, relaxing Christmas, and a happy and healthy 2017.
